One of the main reasons I chose Wordpress was its community support.There are so many people designing enhancements to Wordpress’s core to make it a truely versatile solution.

This site uses a number of plugins to acheive various aims these are listed below.

1. Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not. You need a WordPress.com API key to use it.
2. Activelink Easily set links to wikipedia definitions in multiple languages when creating or editing posts.
3. All-In-One-SEO Pack Out-of-the-box SEO for your Wordpress blog.
4. Really Simple Sitemap Adds a really simple sitemap to your Wordpress blog.
5. SnapShots Add Snap Shots to your blog.
6. Wp-Dtree The treeview menu used on this site is possible using this plugin

I intend using a couple of others but as these are not crucial to getting started I will cover these off later.

To give your site the look and feel you require there are three choices

1. Create your own.
2. Use one of the many free ones.
3. Purchase a ready built Theme.

This site uses the Shifter Theme .

The choice is yours but ensure you get one that has sidebar enabled  and plugin ready.

Again remember this is about cost and the more time you have to take to get your site up  and running the less time you have to generate money.

Once you have your theme just copy (unzip it first if required) it to your /contents/themes/ directory,go to presentation on the wordpress site admin menu and click the theme .Thats it your theme should be installed check it out in your browser.

Now this as got to be the easiest bit of all.Browse to your Wordpress install.php file and follow the on screen instructions.Blink how easy was that.I was gob smacked at how easy this was compared to some of the other offerrings out there.

Ok I was lucky my hosting company has an install script but to be honest the majority of hosting companies support Wordpress so if you cannot see it in your control panel (Fantastico with SimplyBehosted) drop them a mail .

Remember this is about getting your site up and running on the cheap so if you have not sorted your hosting company yet pick one that supports Wordpress at the right price.
